BIO
“POF is a fusion of rap vocals and melodic release with progressive metal’s odd time signatures and heavy riffs. It’s a band listeners can not only enjoy for its uniqueness, but also for its blend of rap and heavy music.”

Started in early 2008 by vocalists Justin Sarachik and Patrick Wakie, Process of Fusion was born of the cofounders’ need for a new sound in the local scene. The addition of guitarists Dylan Klein and Rose Couchon began the band’s own brand of music; blending each member’s own influences to create their own style: one which updates the idea of late 1990s rap-rock with the use of more complex rhythms and lyrical themes. With drummer Terri Caputo joining the band in the summer of 2009, POF was ready to leave an impact on the music world around them.

In spring 2010, the band released their debut EP State of Mind, a punishing seven-song concept album that runs roughly 35 minutes and presents a compact deep statement from the band. Listeners: prepare to be immersed in the complex story of the Apparition, the girl, the hypnotist, and the Watchtower.

Anyone doubting the power of the group’s music could have put their mind at rest watching POF pack out Staten Island’s Full Cup on March 31. The standing-room-only record release party--not easily forgotten in the minds of fans and witnesses-- featured the band’s live performance of State of Mind in its entirety, plus a few
hints of what is to come.

Fast-forward to 2011 and POF had a whirlwind of a ride. In January, the band entered into the Break Contest for Bamboozle. They made it in to the top 20 in the final round for Long Island on

April 4th. The band then entered the War for Warped Tour Battle at Starland May 22nd.

Process of Fusion also hit the studio with producer Jon Santos formerly of Wind Up Records band, Sevenwiser. Santos, the owner of 1176 Studios in Whitestone, Queens, showed POF what it is like to capture the “big sound” and radio friendly quality of superb recordings. With over 15 years of experience in the music industry, the next EP, Connections, will surely outdo the last.

While State of Mind was a concept album, Connections is more of a themed work. The album focuses on people and their own personal “Connections,” whether that is God, humanity, or one another. Where as State of Mind was about finding redemption, Connections is about seeking for hope.

Late 2011 into 2012 saw the band’s fan base almost double as they sold a few hundred copies of Connections.

In January they were signed to local indie label, The Broken Records Collective, along with six other artists.

POF is also in the second round of the Break Contest again, and looking forward to the competition.
